2x Beaujolais Lantignie AOP Croix Pen(n)et 2023
When we look from our house to the mountain direction Regnie-Durette, there is a parcel of almost a half hectare that belongs to us. It’s quite funny because half of it is Regnie and the other side is Lantignie. Both villages calls it Croix Pennet, but only Lantignié uses 2 times the n. The exposition is south facing and it’s full of big granite rocks. It’s a terroir specific and every year this parcellaire wine have this Croix Pen(n)et taste which is hard to explain. We do some longer macerations, and we age 70% on Burgundy barrels.
2x Beaujolais Lantignié AOP May Ga 2023
In Lantignié, at one of the higher parts (418m), the Gamay vines lives on a granite soil. We did a maceration of almost 2 weeks in concrete, after pressing we aged the wine on used barrel. Mayga has a classic but rustique character and the typical Clos Bateau touch what we are known for. A wine you can drink in front of a fireplace during winter but also great to drink a bit chilled during summer.
2x Côte de Brouilly AOP Le Poyebade 2023
Since we’ve made a Cote de Brouilly in 2020 we kept dreaming about a new opportunity for this cuvee. In 2023 the grapes were harvested at the lieu-dit Le Poyebade. The vineyard (quite sauvage) lays on the west side of the mountain Brouilly with the hight of 370m, which is quite impressive. The lieu-dit Poyebade is in appellation of Cote de Brouilly. Because of the location the vineyard is only having sun during the afternoon, this is why there is such a great mix of ripeness and freshness at the same time. After a maceration of almost 2 weeks we pressed this cuvee and later on we aged the wine on used Burgundy barrels for 10 months.
